Instructions for installers and customer care points

It is recommended to use a Windows PC and the USB SW Update Cable CA-138D. The SW update tool will update your Nokia Car Kit CK-300 with the latest available software. As an alternative, the manual update option can be used to update to a specific software version.

The USB SW Update Cable CA-138D is planned to be available through the Nokia Official Mobile Enhancements Partner, Nokia Care point, installers and distributors.

PC system requirements

• Available hard disk space: 20 MB
• Operating system:
  • Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or newer
  • Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework
• Connection methods: Nokia SW Update Cable CA-138D (USB) for connecting your device to your computer.

Instructions for automatic update (recommended):

1. Download the Nokia Car Kit CK-300 software update tool and save it to your computer.
2. Install the SW update tool by running Nokia_Car_Kit_CK-300_Software_Update_Wizard.exe. This will install the update wizard and the Nokia USB cable driver if needed.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software update.
4. To access the Nokia Car Kit CK-300 software update tool on your computer, open the Start menu and select Programs CK300 Software Update Tool > CK300 Software Update Tool.
5. The Nokia Car Kit CK-300 SW update tool will appear.
6. Connect the Nokia SW Update Cable CA-138D to the Nokia HW-21W (handsfree unit) and start the ignition on your car.
7. Two USB drivers will automaticaly be installed.
   1. Nokia CK-300 USB Phone Parent
   2. Nokia CK-300 USB Generic
8. To check whether the two drivers have been installed you can view the Device Manager list by opening the Start menu > right click on My Computer > select Properties > choose the Hardware tab > select Device Manager. If the two drivers appear in this list then the installation process was successful.
9. Press Flash Software button. Note: During the SW update process two new drivers will be installed. A notice will appear, but please ignore this by clicking OK.
10. Hardware wizard will appear. Press next to continue.
11. Restart flashing after the succesful driver installation.
12. If flashing was successful then please click OK.
